Fruit Shop on Greams Road’ (FSoGR).
The place is a pleasant one, quiet place and if you happen to drive in and decide to have the juices sitting in your car, that’s possible. There is a menu hanging on their gate for the perusal of all those who prefer to be in the privacy of their cars.
As we go inside, the first thing that will greet us would be a shelf stocked with fruits, which I reckon they also sell. I had my first site of a kiwi fruit here. Worldspace music usually plays at comfortable and pleasing decibels. They have an assortment of fruit juices and some good desserts.
Prices start from Rs 10 for a Lime Mint Cooler and the most expensive drink is well within the Rs 100 mark.
All their juices have exotic names. So if you want more clarification regarding the contents of the juice in addition to the ones on the menu, ask the bearer. Flosbury Flop, Ethel’s Choice, The Blue Dot Special, Sheikh’s Shake, just a gist of what you might see on their menu.
Their juices are made of mineral water, including the ice. And they charge you Rs 2 extra if you want your juice without ice.
In case you tip the guys who serve you at FSoGR they will politely return it. For as far as I can remember, they have never accepted tips.
The (FSoGR)Beasant Nagar outlet is a good place to head for for some peace and quiet. But if you happen to be shopping at Spencer’s and want to carry around a glass of juice in addition to the shopping bags, cool. It’s very difficult to get seats at the Spencer’s outlet. And no prizes for guessing that it will be noisy too. The one on Greams Road is a bit of both.
On their hoardings around the city, FSoGR calls out to the ‘juicaholics’ to rejoice.
Head there to take a good break from carb drinks. It’s worth it!
The place is open from 10 in the morning to 12 Midnight. The one in Spencer’s follows the mall’s timings.
