Synopsis
Quote:Calcutta News, director Blessy’s fourth film, is all set for release. Produced by actor-producer Thampy Antony under the banner of Kayal Films, the film is set in Kolkata, the ‘City of Joy’, and tells a very interesting story. Ajith Thomas, who is a young television professional - a program producer to be precise - was born and brought up in Kolkata. He has a family to look after, comprising of his mother and sister.Ajith, who is an enterprising and inquisitive young man, explores many sensitive issues in the course of his regular programme, titled ‘Calcutta News’. And it is in the course of doing this programme that he comes across a girl named Krishna, who has her own tragic story to relate. From here Ajith’s life takes a new turn.Dileep, in a totally new get-up, becomes Ajith Thomas while Meera Jasmine is Krishna. Indrajith plays a key role in the film, which also has in the cast many popular artists from Malayalam Cinema plus a few stage artists from Bengal.
